My Review:
This book introduces a sixteen-year-old girl name Clary. Who lives in New York City with her artistic mother Jocelyn, and Luke. Her mother's closest friend and treats Clary like a daughter.... She lives a normal life with he mother, but that all changes the night Clary and her friend Simon go to a club name Pandemonium. But she hardly expects to witness a murder. Much less a murder committed by three teenagers covered with odd marking. This is Clary's first meeting with the Shadowhunters, warriors dedicated to rid the earth of demons and keeping the Downworlders in line. It's also her first meeting with the gorgeous golden-haired Jace, and his two friends Alec and his sister Isabella who is dangerous with a whip. So within twenty-four hours Clary is pulled into their world with a vengeance, when her mother disappears and Clary herself is attack by a demon. Clary goes on a crazy roller coster ride of adventure, to save her mother before it's too late...
Along the way she discovers some secrets and truths about her past, and why she has the "Sight" of being able to see the Shadowhunters world. But when people she thought she could trust, betrayed her. She is not sure who to trust.. She also learns about the moral cup, one of three moral instruments and what created the first Shadowhunter. But when a lost enemy comes back, to search for it, who goes by the name Valentine. He wants to use it to make a Shadowhunter army, and kill all the Downworlders. So it's up to Clary and her Shadowhunter friends to stop him before it's too late...
My Thoughts:
-This book was really good.. I really enjoyed the modern time, of the Shadowhunter world. And the characters were all very interesting to read. Like Strong and speaks her mind Clary, gorgeous Jace, Loveble Luke, strong will Alce, kick ass Isabelle and kind hearted Simon...
-The plot in this book was very well done, and the story-line was amazing. I really enjoy Cassandra Care writing, she makes you think that you figure everything out... But she twists it into a big surprise. I really like that.. I can't wait to read the second book, City of Ashes, to see what happens next to Clary and the gang...
-And I give this book 5/5 stars..
