                    Waiting Wednesday 10#

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Jill at  Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating....

This week I pick:

Darkness Before Dawn by.  J. A. London

About Darkness Before Dawn:
Only sunlight can save us.

We built the wall to keep them out, to keep us safe. But it also makes us prisoners, trapped in what's left of our ravaged city, fearing nightfall.

After the death of my parents, it's up to me--as the newest delegate for humanity--to bargain with our vampire overlord. I thought I was ready. I thought I knew everything there was to know about the monsters. Then again, nothing could have prepared me for Lord Valentine . . . or his son. Maybe not all vampires are killers. Maybe it's safe to let one in.

Only one thing is certain: Even the wall is not enough. A war is coming and we cannot hide forever.

Why I want to read Darkness Before Dawn....
Because... This is another book with a beautiful cover and the story sounds very interesting...  It kind of reminds me of the movie Daybreaker and I love that movie... So I can't wait to see if I'll like this book... But anyway... I can't wait to read it...

                                       May 25, 2012

                   Beastly by. Alex Flinn

My Review:
Kyle Kingsbury is the kind of guy that has it all.. The money... The looks... The popularity... The girls... and the friends... He's also very self-absorbed, selfish and conceeded. He thinks that everyone worships him, and looks up to him... He also expects to win everything, and this year, he already knows that he'll be crowned The Ninth-Grade Prince... But all Kyle has ever known growing up, is what his father has taught him... That beauty from the outside is more important, then the true meaning of beauty... The beauty that lies inside us all... Instead of thinking  that if you are "ugly", from the outside you should be doing something to fix it....

So when Kendra Hilferty.. Who's one of those girls.. Confronts Kyle, and tells him that he is ugly on the inside, and that he is beastly and laughs it off has a trick... What he doesn't know, is that how true her words are and that everything is about to change for Kyle forever... In a spell changing way...

As Kendra's test for Kyle to be the kind of guy that she knows is inside him.... Turns sour.. So she turns him into a beast.. A hairy, ugly, scary and monstrous beast... To learn a lesson about the true meaning of beauty and how to treat others... He soon learns how it feels like to be"ugly" and when people judge you of how you look, then instead of looking past your looks...

And the only thing that will change him back.. Is to find "TRUE LOVE" and also a kiss.. With in only two years that will break the spell... Will he be able to find true love in only two years???

Only his heart will tell...

My Thoughts:

-I really enjoy this book.. A lot........ better then the movie... I mean...  The movie was okay... But I think that they could've done better with how Kyle was suppose  to look has a beast.. I mean... Did you have the same feeling of how Kyle looks in the movie? Because.. man... It was bad.. In the book it show his true beastly look...  Which I enjoy so much better.. Anyway.. I have love the story of Beauty and Beast since I was a kid... So when I heard that this was a modern retelling of that story.. I was so excited to read it...

-About a young boy named Kyle.. Who's self-absorbed, selfish and conceeded But after a spell that change his outer self forever.. He learns a lesson about  the true meaning of beauty, while his whole life changes dramatically though out the book.. Page after page.. So Lindy a smart, quiet, love to read and doesn't care about how you look from the outside, young girl.. Who will change Kyle from  the inside into a better person.. While also  becomes more closer to changing back into himself on the outside as well....

-So in other words.. This book was  very good... I also enjoy how Kyle grew roses in a greenhouse that he build.. That taught him how to take care of something and also how to learn respect..  Which made it even more enjoyable. I will have to say... Beastly was a very magical,
unique and interesting book... And I'm looking forward to reading more of Alex Flinn books in the future...

And I give this book 5/5 stars..
