My Review:
Beautiful Lucinda Price or Luce for short, is banished from everything she knowns after a mysterious fire leaves her friend Trevor dead and Luce shouldering the blame. So she is forced to board at a decrepit reform school called Sword and Cross in sultry Savannah, Georgia. Where studentes are under the constant watch of cameras and must go without cellphones or Internet access. Grief-stricken by Trevor's dead and horrified by her new surroundings, Luce is also plagued by sinister, terrifling shadows that appear wherever she goes and has since she was six. As Luce tries to adjust and fit in. She meets three friends while there, Arie, Penn and Cam, but one boy name Daniel changes her life forever at Sword and Cross. At first she's not sure about Daniel, and his rude actions toward her even though he wants nothing to do with her. But she has a strange feeling about him, like she has seen Daniel before and has dreams about him. So Luce wants to know the mysterious truth of what exactly Daniel is and why he's so desperate to keep it secret. Even if it's kills her....
My Thoughts:
-This book was very different and I was amazed by how much I enjoyed it.. Because I heard so many neglect reviews on this book and wasn't sure if I was going to enjoy it. After I got though the slow beginning and a few things I didn't like. I started to really enjoy it....
-I also enjoyed the twist and turns with secrets around every corner. And I was totally surprise when the truths behind Daniel's secrets were revealed, why Luce sees these shadows and why Daninel feels so familiar. to Luce.
-And lets not forget about the characters. Luce was a hard character to like at first, but as the story went on.. I begun to enjoy her. And Daniel was... Wow! He surprise me the most, because he was so rude to Luce and mean to her in the beginning. But turn it around when Luce discovers the truth about him.
-In other words very interesting book to try out... And I'm very looking forward to reading the second book Torment, to see were Luce and Daniel's journey continues....
-And I give this book 4/5 stars...
