My Review: This book is about a young girl named Shelby Lock. Shelby has always had trouble trusting boys, due to lies to her in the past. She also has trouble talking to her father about how she really feels about her mother’s death and his new wife Priscilla. But after a night of misunderstanding Shelby’s stepmother totally overreacts, when she catches Shelby in a kiss with a senior. Suddenly all of Shelby’s summer plans are put on a shelf and she is packed off to a brat camp called Camp Crescent. It’s goodbye prom dress and hello hiking boots. Things start to look okay for Shelby when she meets new friends and tries to stay out of trouble. That all changes when she meets Austin Bridges the III. She soon finds out she’s not just falling in love with him and cares about him, but Austin and his family have a dark secret and he wants Shelby’s help to guarding it. Shelby knows that she really shouldn’t be getting tangled up with another bad boy.. But how far will Shelby risk her own life, to protect Austin’s secret?
My Thoughts:
- This book was amazing. I really enjoyed Shelby’s strong character and her curiosity to find out what Austin’s family secret is and to risk everything to protect it when she does.
