My Review:
A hidden truth...
Mortal enemies...
Doomed love...

Jacinda is a unique individual because not only is she a draki descendants of dragons, but she is also the first fire breather in 400 years. While her tribe is plainning her future. A future to bond with the alpha's son Casspan, so she can raise a family of little fire-breathers. But as stifling as this sounds, Jacinda doesn't specifically rebel against her assigned future-her big rule infraction is flying during the daylight, when she's only allowed to fly at night. But, her mother comes up with a plan of her own, the only thing these plans have in common is that none of that is what Jacinda wants. In an attempt at a little freedom, Jacinda sneaks out to fly at sunrise. Only flying during the day is prohibited for fear of exposure. While on flight Jacinda is sighted by draki hunters in a helicopter, and is chased though the woods, injured and nearly killed. She crawls into a cave  to hide, but  they quickly corner her in the cave. A young hunter a handsome guy named Will, is sent in to find her. He discovers her, but chooses not to betray her location and he simply lets her go. When she finally crawls back home, it is clear that some sort of punishment is being planned for her...

But Jacinda's mom takes Jacinda and her twin sister Trama and flees from the hidden draki settlement in the middle of the night, hoping to start over in a new city as humans. Trama, who  never manifested as a draki, is thrilled to have a chance at a normal life, while Jacinda just goes along with what her mother choses. Jacinda's mother chosse a desert city knowing that Jacinda's inner draki will dormant and let her live as a normal human. Jacinda doesn't want her draki  side to die, she wants it to live.  And she will do anything to keep it alive. Life in the desert isn't all bad when she discovers that Will, the hunter who let her go, is at the same school. But, Jacinda  finds that her draki is most alive when she's around Will, and Will is drawn to Jacinda but doesn't  know why he  feels so connected to her. In order to keep her inner draki thriving, she's willing to take any risk of spending time with Will and is slowly falling in love with him. He seems even kinder and more sympathetic as she gets to know him. But just as Jacinda is finding a balance of things, Cassian her betroth has turned up, and is not sure if she can trust him. He has found her, and wants  to bring her back to her rightful home.....

My Thoughts:

- This book was amazing. I really enjoyed this new way of dragon mythology.  And the world of draki  was so cool and very interesting to read, it had a real feeling to it.

The characters in this book were also very cool and interesting to read as well... Jacinda was such a brave and strong young girl with a free sprit. That speaks her mind, and I felt sad what Jacinda was going though to keep her draki alive, and  Jacinda was so  lucky that Will was there to help with that whole problem... And the relationship with Jacinda and Will, was so sweet and well put together.

-So yeah, the story was a great read, and looking forward to reading the second book Vanish next year.

-And I give this book 5/5 stars...
